About Natalie Green
Natalie’s hockey story is one of the most unique on the roster. She first played for Romford Nighthawks back in 1993–1995, when she was a teenager who loved ice skating and jumped at the chance when Romford were setting up a women’s team.
Then life took over – and it would be 30 years before she returned to the ice.
Ice Hockey Career
Natalie marked her return in the 2025–2026 season – and made it count. Originally from Hampstead Heath and now working as a teacher at a SEND school, she spotted that Invicta were looking for players the same week she quit netball. It felt like the right moment.
Her inspiration, fittingly, is Wayne Gretzky.
She plays right wing, because that’s where her coach puts her – and she’s just happy to be on the ice.
That joy is infectious, and it’s no surprise her favourite thing about Invicta is the people: every single player, coach, and volunteer.
Career Highlights
Her most memorable moment back? Scoring two goals and winning player of the match in her very first game back after 30 years away.
Life Away From Ice Hockey
Outside hockey, Natalie reads, walks her dog, and runs. She has completed a 21km run and continues to train.
A fun fact: she is half Egyptian.
If not hockey, she would continue running.
Her teammates would describe her as: not specified (“all of them” for opponents).
