About Leia Ferrier
Leia grew up in Dartford and is currently studying in sixth form. Her hockey story started in the stands watching the Romford Raiders — and that was all it took. Three years ago she stepped onto the ice for the first time, and despite not being able to skate backwards when she started, she found her place as a forward and has been charging ahead ever since.
Ice Hockey Career
With Connor Bedard and Shaun Miller as her inspirations, Leia joined Invicta Dynamics for a straightforward reason — they’re the only women’s team in Kent. What she found since joining was something far bigger than she expected: genuine laughs and a group of people who feel like family.
Career Highlights
Her standout moment on the ice? Scoring her first hat-trick — a milestone she won’t be forgetting any time soon.
Life Away From Ice Hockey
Off the ice, Leia plays football and carries a remarkable piece of personal history: she signed a youth contract with Gillingham FC when she was younger. Given the chance, she’d also take up Muay Thai. Her teammates would describe her as funny, nosy, and family oriented — which, by her own admission, sounds about right.
