About Anna Chiara Beltrami
Anna Beltrami’s love of hockey started at the age of five, when she watched some kids playing on a frozen lake near her home in Trento, Italy, and decided on the spot that it was the most fun thing in the world. Fifteen years of playing across Italy’s Serie A with AHC Lakers and AA-level hockey in Canada with Notre Dame Hounds later, that instinct has proven entirely correct.
Ice Hockey Career
After twelve years away from the game, she found her way back to the ice through Invicta – watching a Dynamos game, unable to keep her legs still when the puck dropped, spotting a Dynamics poster between periods. She messaged on Instagram, Lou helped her get back on the ice, and the rest is history.
A self-described Professional Nerd, Anna plays defence on the basis that she is, in her own words, “evil and sturdy” – though she’ll happily play anywhere. What she loves most about Invicta is that nobody takes themselves too seriously, and she can be her real self with this lot.
Career Highlights
Her most memorable moment? An accidental tap-in own goal against Bristol, where she and Stacey locked eyes in stunned silence as Bristol celebrated around them.
Life Away From Ice Hockey
Outside of hockey, she skis, frequents metal gigs with an enthusiasm for a good moshpit, and lifts at the gym. If she wasn’t playing hockey, she’d be a downhill ski racer. Her hockey idol is Chelsea Meaney – Invicta’s own Duracell Bunny.
Her teammates would describe her as crazy, passionate, and French.
